Dominique Horwitz: Captain Ahab

Symphonic melodrama based on the novel 'Moby Dick'

Welcome to a great symphonic evening – an over-dimensional dramatised reading dealing with obsession, revenge, passion and the eternally unfathomable savagery of nature. The novel “Moby Dick” serves as the basis, with Dominique Horwitz speaking the character roles - including that of the legendary Captain Ahab. The orchestra provides the sea, the waves and the elemental force of which people were, are and always will be at the mercy. Captain Ahab embodies the great literary idea of an egomaniac. Little wonder that Dominique Horwitz was so eager to take part in this theatrical adaptation - the opportunity to play such wonderful stage characters doesn’t often arise, even for a world-class actor. An evening for all the senses!
