'Carmina Burana'
Version for choir, two pianos and percussion
|
Carmina Burana is the most famous choral work of the 20th century. We will present it in a version which, quite frankly, “rocks”. Without the large orchestra the rhythm really stands out, leading to giant climaxes and inducing the listener into a state of total tranquillity. Finally the joys of love and refreshment are evoked, and thus the state of serenity is understood. Some listeners can appreciate classical music only when the surroundings are quiet, gentle and demure. Carmina Burana is the antithesis of this situation - it is up to you to decide whether that’s a warning or an invitation...
