Skiing at its best for both cross-country and downhill skiers

A cross-country skiers dream with over 600 miles of tracks on Baden-Baden’s doorstep. Breathtaking views across mountains and glens and warm, cozy sun spots for topping up the tan. All in all an exhilarating feeling of freedom for mind, body and soul.

And for all downhill fanatics there are over half a mile of runs on the nearby 3,300 foot high Mehliskopf, accessible form the B500 road, the Schwarzwaldhochstraße. As long as the snow conditions allow, the lifts are open from 9am to 10pm, with the slopes being floodlit from 5pm. Several snow making machines are present to optimize the pistes.

You can reach the Mehliskopf by car by taking the B500 road (Schwarzwaldhochstraße) in the direction of Freudenstadt. It is an approximate 9 mile drive from Baden-Baden. Or you can take the Baden-Baden-Schwarzwaldhochstraße-Mummelsee bus, number 245, alighting at the Sand/ Schwarzwald bus stop.
