Mummelsee Lake

Sometimes shrouded in mist, always shrouded in mystery!

By daylight the Mummelsee is a picturesque mountain lake, 3,400 feet above sea level. Paddle boats bob up and down, while walkers explore the spectacular countryside. At night, however, it’s a totally different kettle of fish! Then it is home to the King of the lake and his mermaids!

So at the next full moon, find yourself a comfortable spot, have plenty of local fare, such as Black Forest ham and Kirschwasser, to hand – rumor has it that the King is sometimes peckish – and then wait to see what happens!
Mummelsee

The Mummelsee, delightfully located between the villages of Ruhestein and Unterstmatt, on the B500 road, the Schwarzwaldhochstraße, is the perfect place to visit on a sunny spring or summer day.
