Sometimes shrouded in mist, always shrouded in mystery!

By daylight the Mummelsee is a picturesque mountain lake, 3,400 feet above sea level. Paddle boats bob up and down, while walkers explore the spectacular countryside. At night, however, it’s a totally different kettle of fish! Then it is home to the King of the lake and his mermaids! So at the next full moon, find yourself a comfortable spot, have plenty of local fare, such as Black Forest ham and Kirschwasser, to hand – rumor has it that the King is sometimes peckish – and then wait to see what happens! |

The Mummelsee, delightfully located between the villages of Ruhestein and Unterstmatt, on the B500 road, the Schwarzwaldhochstraße, is the perfect place to visit on a sunny spring or summer day.
